• Geboren 1960 in Bonn und Gymnasialzeit mit Abitur 1979 in Siegburg, nach 15 Monaten Wehrdienst im Stabsmusikkorps der Bundeswehr Studium der Humanmedizin von 1980 bis 1986 in Bonn und London. 1980 – 1983 Studium Musikwissenschaft. 1987 Promotion. 
• Von 1987  bis 1988 Assistent an der Universitätsklinik Essen (Klinik für Thorax- und Kardiovaskuläre Chirurgie, Prof. Dr. C.
